I am Rita Caldevilla, 59 years old, a self-taught artist.

My path has not followed a traditional route in the arts.
My background is in physical education, where I developed a strong connection to movement, the body, and spatial awareness.
Alongside this, sailing has always been an important part of my life, offering me a deep relationship with the sea, with time, and with silence.

It is from this balance between movement and contemplation that my painting emerged.

Painting came naturally to me, as an extension of how I observe and feel the world. As a self-taught artist, I am guided by intuition, experimentation, and the freedom of not being bound by rigid rules. I am particularly drawn to emotions, atmospheres, and sensations that are difficult to express in words.

The sea, nature, and inner states are constant influences in my work.
I aim to create pieces that convey calm, depth, and a sense of timelessness - like suspended moments.

Each painting is a personal process where I allow space for the unexpected. Rather than representing something literal, I am interested in suggesting and evoking, leaving room for each viewer to find their own meaning.
